Celtics Defeat Mavericks 107-89 in NBA Finals Game 1

Blown out by Boston, Dallas Faces Uphill Battle

The Boston Celtics blew out the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 to take Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday. Kristaps Porzingis returned to the court for the Mavericks, but it wasn't enough to stop the Celtics from taking an early lead in the series.

Boston Dominates from the Start

Jaylen Brown led the way for the Celtics with 22 points, while Kristaps Porzingis added 20 in his return. The Celtics took a 19-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Mavericks couldn't keep up with Boston's pace and shooting, and they trailed by as many as 25 points in the second half.

The Celtics' depth proved to be too much for the Mavericks, as they got contributions from their entire roster. Marcus Smart added 18 points off the bench, while Robert Williams III had 10 points and 14 rebounds. The Mavericks were led by Luka Doncic's 20 points, but they need much more from their supporting cast.

Boston will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host Game 2 on Sunday.
